フォーラムの投稿にある通り、ja_JP.UTF-8 環境で Adobe Readerを起動すると
検索窓などで日本語を入力すると動作しない。
コンソールから

LANG=ja_JP.eucJP acroread

で起動すると問題なく日本語入力できる。
困ったな・・・。
